A US Food and Drug Administration advisory panel on Wednesday recommended that a heartburn drug be sold as a treatment for heartburn symptoms.

In the two studies, the incidence of heartburn for the drug was significantly higher at the lowest dose and treatment with the highest dose was no longer effective.
